Isaiah Stewart had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 25 Washington to a 72-53 victory over Maine in a nonconference game Tuesday night in Seattle.

Quade Green made all five of his shots, including one from 3-point range, and finished with 11 points for the Huskies (3-1). Jaden McDaniels also had 11 points, although on 4-of-17 shooting, and he had four assists.

Maine (1-3) was led by 18 points each from Andrew Fleming and Nedeljko Prijovic. Fleming and Prijovic combined to shoot 14 of 23 from the field, including 6 of 8 from 3-point range, while their teammates made 7 of 28 shots overall and 3 of 19 from beyond the arc.

The Black Bears attempted only four free throws in the game, making two.

Washington was 3 of 15 from 3-point range but was 25 of 45 inside the arc and outscored Maine 46-16 in the paint. The Huskies committed only six turnovers while Maine had 20, which contributed to Washington outscoring the Black Bears 20-5 in points-off-turnovers.

The Huskies also outscored Maine 16-0 in fast-break points.

Washington went on a 15-0 run in the first half to pull away. The Huskies' lead went from 17-13 with 8:20 left in the half to 32-13 with 3:48 remaining. Nahziah Carter had three dunks and Green had five points in the run.

The Black Bears went 4:52 without scoring until Peter Stumer made a 3-pointer with 3:28 left in the first half.

Maine had five turnovers in that pivotal stretch and 14 overall in first half. The miscues enabled Washington to outscore the Black Bears 14-2 in points-off-turnovers by halftime.

Stewart had 12 of his points in the first half as the Huskies built a 36-18 lead. Green made all four of his shots, including a 3-pointer, before halftime.

Maine did not have a player score more than five points in the first half. The Black Bears shot 32 percent in the half and were 2 of 14 from 3-point range. They finished the game shooting 41.2 percent overall.
