Freshman Tyrell Terry's 21 points, including 11 free throws without a miss, helped undefeated Stanford roll to an 82-64 win over Santa Clara Saturday night in Palo Alto, Calif.

Oscar da Silva scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Daejon Davis added 15 points for Stanford, which shot 50 percent (26 of 52) from the field.

Josip Vrankic's 13 points led the Broncos (3-1). Center Jaden Bediako had nine points but battled foul trouble, as he was one of two Santa Clara players to foul out.

The Cardinal (4-0) won despite a slow start that saw the Broncos ahead or tied until the 4:28 mark of the first half. That's when Davis made a layup for a 27-26 Stanford lead, and the Cardinal went on a 9-0 run to take the lead for good.

Stanford led 38-32 at halftime, and built on their lead quickly in the second half.

Stanford went up by 11 on a Davis 3-pointer with 17:09 to go in the second half, making it 47-36. Later in the half, Jaiden Delaire hit a 3 and da Silva scored inside, giving the Cardinal a 55-42 lead.

"Our preparation has been unbelievable this year," Davis said after the game when asked how the Cardinal have gotten off to their best start in the head coach Jerod Haase era.

Da Silva dunked with 6:44 to play for a 70-54 lead, and Santa Clara didn't have enough time to come back. The Cardinal made 10 more free throws, shooting 14 more then the Broncos.

Stanford used its size advantage to outscore Santa Clara 36-20 in points in the paint. The Cardinal had 23 points off 17 Broncos turnovers.

Stanford leads the overall series 52 wins to 25 between the two South Bay Area schools.
