Daejon Davis led four starters in double figures with 15 points and Stanford's defense limited visiting Cal State Fullerton to two points in the first 6:39 of the game en route to a 70-54 nonconference men's basketball victory on Saturday night.

Oscar da Silva had 14 points, while Tyrell Terry and Spencer Jones contributed 12 apiece as the Cardinal (2-0) followed up on Wednesday's 73-62 win over Montana with a second straight comfortable win.

Wayne Arnold paced the Titans (0-2) with 14 points.

Stanford never trailed, using a 10-2, game-opening run to take control of the contest almost immediately. Davis had six of the 10 points on a three-point play, a two-point hoop and a free throw.

The Cardinal went onto lead by as many as 19 in the first half and 33-19 at the break.

Fullerton, a 16-18 team a year ago which made the NCAA Tournament in 2018, got as close as 40-33 on a hoop by Brandonn Kamga in the seventh minute of the second half, but Stanford's stingy defense kept the visitors at arm's length the rest of the way.

Fullerton shot just 33.3 percent overall and 17.4 percent (4-for-23) on 3-pointers.

Davis also found time for five rebounds, two assists and three steals for the Cardinal, who were facing their California rival for just the second time.

Bryce Wills chipped in with team-highs in rebounds with seven and assists with five for Stanford, which made half its 50 shots.

Fullerton's Davon Clare was the game's leading rebounder with 15. Kamga finished with 10 points off the bench for the Titans, who opened their season with a 76-58 loss at Brigham Young on Tuesday.
