Senior guard Samir Doughty scored a career-high 33 points and senior guard J'Von McCormick set a school record for assists as No. 22 Auburn rolled to a 116-70 victory over visiting Cal State Northridge in a Legends Classic campus game Friday night.

McCormick handed out 16 assists in 21 minutes, and Doughty shot 6 of 8 on 3-point attempts and 10 of 15 from the field overall in 24 minutes for the Tigers (4-0).

Auburn hit a season-high 17 3-pointers on 35 attempts.

Freshman forward Isaac Okoro reached double figures for the fourth consecutive game with 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting.

Guard Terrell Gomez led the Matadors (0-4) with 23 points, but he hit just 8 of 23 attempts from the floor. Redshirt freshman guard/forward Brendan Harrick, nephew of current Northridge assistant and former head UCLA and Georgia coach Jim Harrick, added his season-high 17.

Auburn wasted little time taking control. The Tigers missed their first shot but made their next five on their way to an 11-0 lead less than three minutes into the game.

The edge reached 29-9 at the 13:33 mark of the first half on Doughty's fast-break layup, and it was 59-29 after guard Devan Cambridge's dunk with 3:05 with left in the half.

The Tigers' biggest lead was 50 points twice in the second half, 111-61 and 116-66.

The Tigers went to the locker room at the break up 66-38 after shooting 60.5 percent overall and hitting 10 3-pointers to match their previous season high from behind the arc.

With 22 points in the first half, Doughty already had a season high. He was 5 of 7 on 3-pointers after entering the game just 2 of 10 from beyond the arc for the season.

The visiting Matadors played their fourth consecutive game without 2019 Big West Conference Players of the Year Lamine Diane, who is currently ineligible.
