Georgia picked up its first SEC win of the year and snapped a two-game losing streak on Wednesday night in Athens by routing Tennessee, 80-63.

Anthony Edwards and junior Rayshaun Hammonds were the story for the Bulldogs (11-5, 1-2 SEC). The freshman Edwards -- who struggled in Georgia's 22-point loss to then-No. 5 Auburn on Saturday -- got back on track against the Vols, scoring 26 points, 20 of which came in the first half.

Hammonds chipped in with 21 points. The pair went a combined 8 of 13 from 3-point territory.

Jordan Bowden scored 12 points, followed by Josiah-Jordan James with 11 to lead Tennessee (11-6, 2-2), which trailed by 19 at the half and by as many as 26 in the game.

The victory snapped a two-game losing streak to the Vols and allowed the Bulldogs to match their win total from a season ago.

It didn't take Edwards long to get going. After a 9-0 run put Tennessee ahead 12-8, the Atlanta native hit his first of five 3-pointers to start a Bulldogs run. A steal and a layup by Donnell Gresham Jr. put Georgia up 13-12 with 12:48 on the clock, and Edwards hit another three to cap an 8-0 run.

Tennessee would not see the lead again. Back-to-back 3-pointers by Hammonds -- in the middle of a 10-0 spree -- pushed Georgia's advantage to 13 with 7:44 left in the half.

The lead kept growing with a 13-2 run. A rare three by Sahvir Wheeler started the stretch, and Edwards finished it with seven straight points to push the margin to 22.

Tennessee's Drew Pember answered with a three of his own to send the teams into their respective locker rooms with the Bulldogs up 47-28.

The Volunteers never got closer than 16 after intermission, despite scoring the game's final nine points.
