Omer Yurtseven scored 20 points and Mac McClung added 19 as Georgetown increased its home winning streak to six games with an 83-80 Big East victory Wednesday over No. 25 Creighton in Washington, D.C.

Jagan Mosely scored 13 points and Jahvon Blair added 12 as the Hoyas (12-6, 2-3 Big East) were able to hold off a late Creighton push after leading by as many as nine points in the second half.

Marcus Zegarowski scored 20 points and Denzel Mahoney added 19 as the Bluejays (13-5, 2-3) lost immediately after receiving their first national ranking in two years. It was Creighton's third defeat in conference play, but their first against a team that wasn't ranked.

McClung scored five points in the final minute of play, three at the free throw line, to seal the victory for Georgetown. It was the first victory in five tries against Creighton for Hoyas head coach Patrick Ewing.

Creighton was able to grab a 37-36 halftime lead on the back of 11 points from Zegarowski. Yurtseven had 10 points in the opening 20 minutes on 4 of 7 shooting as Georgetown outshot Creighton from the field 46.4 percent to 41.9 percent.

The Bluejays pushed their lead to 45-40 about three minutes into the second half on a 3-pointer by Zegarowski. Georgetown then went on a 9-0 run to grab a 49-45 lead as McClung scored four points in the stretch.

The Hoyas built the lead to nine points at 70-61 on a put-back by Yurtseven before the Bluejays put together their own comeback. An 8-0 Creighton run, capped by a 3-pointer from Mitch Ballock, cut the deficit to 70-69.

The 3-pointer was Ballock's first field goal of the game and it came with 3:49 to play. The junior guard entered averaging 12.6 points per game. He finished with six, while Ty-Shon Alexander had 14 for the Bluejays.

With Georgetown clinging to a two-point lead in the final minute, McClung connected on a short-range jumper to give the Hoyas a 78-74 lead with 38 seconds remaining. He added one free throw for a 79-74 lead after a missed shot by Zegarowski and made two attempts from the line with four seconds left.
