Davide Moretti scored 18 points, and Texas Tech ended a three-game losing streak with a stunning 70-57 win over No. 1 Louisville on Tuesday at New York's Madison Square Garden as part of the Jimmy V Classic.

Texas Tech (6-3) led by three points at halftime and never trailed in the second half, building an 11-point lead on Moretti's jumper with 11:42 to play.

Two free throws by Terrence Shannon Jr. with 1:59 remaining moved the Red Raiders' lead to 60-50 and cemented the game. Another pair by Moretti at the 1:12 mark handed the Red Raiders their biggest lead, 12 points.

Shannon finished with 13 points, and Avery Benson added 10 points off the bench for Texas Tech. Chris Clarke pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds for the Red Raiders, who won despite playing without leading scorer Jahm'ius Ramsey for the third consecutive game.

Louisville (9-1) shot just 34 percent in the game and 3 of 17 (17.6 percent) from beyond the 3-point arc. Jordan Nwora led the Cardinals with 14 points but hit just 4 of 16 field-goal attempts. Steven Enoch hit for 10 points, all in the first half, and grabbed six rebounds in the loss.

Louisville committed 19 turnovers and led for just 6:41 of the game. Texas Tech gave the ball away 14 times.

After leading by as many as seven points in the early going, Louisville struggled with its shooting in the middle of the first half, falling behind 25-16 by missing 11 consecutive field-goal attempts over a span of nearly 10 minutes.

Texas Tech led 31-28 at the half as both teams shot the ball poorly. The Red Raiders made just 12 of 31 shots (38.7 percent) in the first 20 minutes while Louisville was only 8 of 28 (28.6 percent), with Enoch making four of those shots.

Benson paced the Red Raiders with seven first-half points off the bench. Texas Tech outrebounded Louisville 25-18 in the half and 40-38 overall.
