Ty-Shon Alexander scored 22 points and Marcus Zegarowski added 21 to lead Creighton to an easy 89-58 win over Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Friday night in Omaha, Neb.

Zegarowski and Alexander combined for 27 first-half points as Creighton (8-2) won for the fourth straight time. The Bluejays have not lost a Friday night home game since falling to North Texas on Dec. 12, 1975 -- a string of 30 consecutive wins.

Zegarowski, a sophomore guard, went 9 of 13 from the floor, including 3 of 5 on 3-point attempts.

Alexander, a junior guard who had connected on at least four 3-pointers five times this season, knocked down just 1 of 4 attempts from long range. However, he did plenty of damage from the free-throw line, making 13 of 15 attempts.

Jordan Jackson led the Vaqueros (4-6) with 13 points, and Javon Levi scored 10.

The Vaqueros were held more than 13 points below their season average of 71.8 points a game. Texas-Rio Grande Valley was allowing 62.6 points each outing, but the Bluejays surpassed that mark with 11:49 left in the game.

The Vaqueros had been making 35.7 percent from 3-point range, but against the Bluejays, they made just 13.3 percent (2 of 15).

Jackson gave the Vaqueros their only lead of the night 30 seconds in at 2-0. Mitch Ballock and Zegarowski answered with a pair of 3-pointers, and Creighton was off and running.

While Jackson scored the Vaqueros' first seven points, the Bluejays' balanced offense opened up a 16-7 advantage on two free throws by Alexander.

Texas-Rio Grande Valley got within 18-12, but that was as close as the Vaqueros would get the rest of the night.

Creighton's lead swelled to 36-20 when Alexander made two more free throws with 3:36 left in the half.

Zegarowski's 3-pointer as the first half ended put the Bluejays solidly in command with a 45-24 lead at intermission.

Jalen Windham's layup with 4:40 to go gave the Bluejays their largest lead of the game at 78-43.
