Guard Clayton Custer scored 19 points to lead Loyola-Chicago in an 88-79 victory over Washington State on Monday as the Ramblers finished in fifth place at the Paradise Jam.

Forward Aundre Jackson made six of his eight shots and went five-for-six at the line to contribute 17 points off the bench for Loyola, while Ingram had 17 of his own thanks in part to three 3-pointers.

Loyola finished the Paradise Jam with back-to-back wins, beating Oral Roberts 78-53 after falling to St. Joseph's 71-57 in its opener.

Guard Ike Iroegbu led Washington State with 19 points. Hawkinson had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, but WSU turned the ball over 19 times and went 3-for-12 from 3-point range.

Washington State opened the Paradise Jam with a loss to Creighton, then beat Montana 87-63. It finishes the event in sixth place.

The Cougars took a 7-5 lead on a basket by forward Conor Clifford, but the Ramblers went on a 12-0 run to jump ahead 17-7. Washington State would cut the margin to two on a basket by forward Josh Hawkinson with 4:03 to go in the first half, but never drew even again.

Loyola took a 38-30 lead into halftime, and guard Donte Ingram opened the scoring in the second half with a 3-pointer to push the margin to 11. It led by as many as 15 and was never seriously threatened again until the Cougars cut the margin to six on a pair of Hawkinson free throws with just over two minutes to go.

The lead would be cut to five with 41 seconds left, but the Ramblers hit their free throws down the stretch and WSU got no closer.
