Senior guard Tai Webster hit a driving layup with 31.2 seconds remaining to lead Nebraska to its second consecutive road upset, 67-65 at Maryland on Sunday afternoon as the surprising Cornhuskers moved to 2-0 in Big Ten play.

Webster, who had 18 points, scored Nebraska's last seven points, as the Cornhuskers (8-6, 2-0) overcame a 12-point deficit in the final six minutes. Junior Glynn Watson, Jr., added 17 points.

Freshman Kevin Huerter hit seven 3-point field goals and poured in a career-high 26 points for the Terrapins (13-2, 1-1). It was just Maryland's second home loss in 19 Big Ten games since the Terrapins joined the league three years ago.

The Terrapins trailed by eight early in the second half before Huerter and junior guard Melo Trimble led Maryland to a 13-point lead with a big run in search of their ninth win this season after trailing in the second half.

The Cornhuskers, who upset No. 16 Indiana and snapped the Hoosiers' 26-game home winning streak Wednesday, mounted a rally of their own, outscoring the Terrapins 14-0 over the final six minutes.

A four-point play by Trimble, who had 14 points, with 11:42 left, put Maryland in front 49-47, part of a 17-0 Terrapins' run. Huerter had a four-point play as well after being fouled while making a 3-pointer. His ensuing free throw put the Terrapins ahead 60-47 with 8:37 to play at the end of the big Maryland spree. Trimble missed two 3-point attempts in the final 10 seconds that could have won the game.

Maryland saw its six game winning streak stopped. The Cornhuskers have won three in a row and are off to their best Big Ten start since 2005-06.

The Cornhuskers led 34-30 at the half, overcoming a slow shooting start and weathering a Terrapins' run late in the half. Nebraska hit 7-of-8 shots to forge a 24-17 lead with 6:27 to play on a 3-pointer by Watson, part of an 11-3 run. The Terrapins charged back, and regained the lead at 27-26 on a 3-pointer by junior Jared Nickens.

Nebraska closed with an 8-1 run over the final 2:11, starting with a jumper from Watson, who had 12 of his points in the first half.

Maryland senior center Damonte Dodd made his first appearance in seven games, coming back from an MCL injury to his left knee.
