Marc Loving had 19 points to lead Ohio State to a 78-47 win over Jackson State on Wednesday night at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Kam Williams scored 15 points and JaQuan Lyle added 10 points and 11 assists for his fifth career double-double for the Buckeyes (5-0).

Paris Collins had 19 points for Jackson State (1-4).

Loving was 6 of 12 from the floor, including 3 of 7 from 3-point range, after scoring just 17 points in his previous three games.

Ohio State led 40-23 at the half thanks to 65.2 percent shooting from the floor but missed 10 of the first 12 to start the second half and the lead dwindled to 12 before the Buckeyes increased the margin.

The Tigers had a good start to the game, but two poor spells doomed them.

Jackson State led 15-14 with 11:35 left in the first half before going the next four minutes without a basket when Ohio State went on 9-0 run for a 23-15 advantage.

The Tigers stayed with their slow-down game and often worked the shot clock inside 10 seconds on their possessions.

Ohio State did run when given the opportunity and pulled away late in the first half during a 15-0 streak.

Lyle had alley-oops to Trevor Thompson on consecutive trips down the court before Lyle assisted on a Thompson layup for a 38-20 lead as the Tigers went nearly six minutes without a field goal.

The game was the last of a four straight on the road for Jackson State. The Tigers lost all four.

Ohio State hosts Marshall on Friday. Jackson State lost to Marshall 71-61 on Monday. The Tigers host Western Carolina on Saturday.
