BOXSCORE | RECAP
Seton Hall 82, Central Conn. St. 58
When: 2:00 PM ET, Sunday, November 13, 2016
Where: Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey
Officials: # Jeff Clark, # Pat Driscoll, # Greg Evans
Attendance: 6354

Defending Big East Tournament champion Seton Hall opened Sunday's game on a 26-4 run and went on to cruise past Central Connecticut 82-58 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

The score was tied 2-2 after the Blue Devils' Tyson Batiste made a layup on Central Connecticut's second possession.

But then the floodgates opened as the Pirates (2-0) went on a 15-0 run. A free throw made the score 17-3 and set the stage for next Seton Hall run, which covered four-plus minutes.

The Blue Devils (1-1) finally reached double digits with 6:55 left when Tidell Pierre's layup made the score 28-10.

Central Connecticut didn't have an answer for Khadeem Carrington, who was coming off a 27-point performance against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday. Against the Blue Devils, Carrington was practically unstoppable.

He went 6 of 8 from the field and was 4 of 4 from beyond the arc on his way to a game-high 18 points.

Angel Delgado reprised his performance from the season opener when he dominated inside play and compiled 22 points and 14 rebounds. On Sunday, he recorded another double-double with 16 rebounds (10 on the offensive glass) and 14 points.

Desi Rodriguez chipped in with 10 points.

Even though the Blue Devils were thoroughly outmatched, they didn't lay down in the second half. The Pirates outscored the Blue Devils by only five points, 38-33, in the final 20 minutes.

Mustafa Jones led Central Connecticut, who was picked last in the 10-team Northeast Conference preseason poll, with 11 points. Batiste added 10 points for the Blue Devils, who were held to 22-of-61 shooting from the field.

The faster and more athletic Pirates held advantages in almost every statistic. Seton Hall had a huge 45-30 advantage on the boards and had seven blocks shots to none for the Blue Devils.
