UCLA 85, USC 74: Bryce Alford scored 23 points and was 5-of-6 from 3-point range to lead five players in double figures as the Bruins clinched a first-round bye in the Pac-12 Tournament with a convincing win over the visiting Trojans.

Tony Parker had 22 points, Kevon Looney collected 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Isaac Hamilton added 13 points and five assists for UCLA (19-12, 11-7), which shot 49.2 percent and completed a regular-season sweep of the rival Trojans. Norman Powell chipped in 12 points as the Bruins closed the regular season with their third straight victory.

Katin Reinhardt led USC (11-19, 3-15) with 22 points off the bench while Nikola Jovanovic scored 16 and Elijah Stewart drained four 3-pointers to finish with 14 points. Reinhardt was 5-of-7 beyond the arc for the Trojans, who have lost five straight and nine of their last 10 against the Bruins.

Alford scored 15 points in the opening period as the Bruins used an 18-5 run to pull ahead by 10 and led 46-35 at the break after forcing nine turnovers. Reinhardt converted a four-point play to cut the deficit to 66-58 with just under 10 minutes left before Hamilton drilled a 3-pointer to spark a 12-5 run as the Bruins maintained control.

USC secured a last-place finish in the Pac-12 and lost for the 13th time in its last 15 games despite shooting 55.3 percent – including 11-of-19 from 3-point range. Alford, who is 14-of-23 shooting from 3-point range in four career games against the Trojans, finished 7-of-10 from the field along with three assists and three steals.

GAME NOTEBOOK: USC coach Andy Enfield was assessed a technical foul for arguing a non-call with just over seven minutes left in the first half and the Trojans trailing 32-19. … UCLA finished league play with an undefeated home record (9-0) for the first time since 2006-07. … G Julian Jacobs had eight points, four rebounds and six assists for USC, which committed 18 turnovers.
