No. 5 Duke 91, Virginia Tech 86 (OT): Freshman Jahlil Okafor returned from a one-game injury absence to score a career-high 30 points and grab nine rebounds as the Blue Devils outlasted the upset-minded Hokies.

Quinn Cook scored 23 points and knocked down six 3-pointers, including one with just under a minute to play in overtime as Duke (25-3, 12-3 ACC) extended its winning streak to eight and beat Virginia Tech for the eighth consecutive time. Justise Winslow added 15 points and seven boards for the Blue Devils, who shot 59.3 percent and connected on 10-of-23 3-pointers.

Freshman Jalen Hudson came off the bench to score a season-high 23 points and Adam Smith added 15 for Virginia Tech (10-18, 2-13), which suffered its fourth straight defeat and seventh in eight games despite knocking down 12-of-22 from behind the arc. Devin Wilson had 10 points and 11 rebounds and Justin Bibbs scored 10 for the Hokies.

Malik Muller's layup and 3-pointer pushed Virginia Tech ahead 75-71 with 3:55 remaining in regulation, but Duke answered with a 6-0 burst to reclaim the lead on Winslow's layup with 63 ticks left. After Bibbs' baseline jumper tied it 19 seconds later, Okafor missed two free throws with 21.3 seconds left, but Hudson couldn't convert inside to send the game to overtime.

Ahmed Hill's 3-pointer early in overtime gave the Hokies their last lead but Duke went ahead to stay on two free throws by Okafor and a layup by Winslow before Cook hit the dagger 3-pointer with 57.8 seconds to play to make it 86-82. Virginia Tech, which shot 69.6 percent in the first half and scored on 16 of its last 18 possessions to erase an early 11-point deficit, led 39-37 at halftime and by as many as eight in the second half.
