Sheldon McClellan scored 19 points to lead the host Hurricanes past the Tigers in an ACC game.

McClellan was 6-of-8 from the field, drained three 3-pointers and was 4-of-4 from the foul line for Miami (15-8, 5-5), which snapped a three-game losing streak. Ivan Cruz Uceda came off the bench and chipped in 10 points, all in the first half, to go with five rebounds for the Hurricanes, who were helped by Tonye Jekiri’s six points and 16 rebounds, and Angel Rodriguez’s nine points and five assists.

Jordan Roper and Donte Grantham scored 10 points apiece to lead Clemson (14-9, 6-5), which had its four-game winning streak snapped. Grantham grabbed seven rebounds for the Tigers.

Roper and Grantham scored seven points apiece in the first half to lead Clemson to a 25-24 advantage at halftime. Miami, which was led by McClellan’s 11 points, shot 28.6 percent from the field but made six 3-pointers before intermission.

The Hurricanes went on a 16-3 run to start the second half and took a 40-28 lead with 12:56 to play. The Tigers cut it to 46-43 after a Roper 3-pointer, Austin Ajukwa's dunk and Josh Smith's layup capped a 7-0 run with 6:02 remaining, but the Hurricanes answered with consecutive 3-pointers by Manu Lecomte off the bench to make it 52-43.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami, which finished with 10 3-pointers, has made at least eight from long distance in six of its last eight games. … The Hurricanes’ bench accounted for 18 points and has scored 18 or more in 16 of 23 games this season. … The Hurricanes improved to 10-12 in the series against Clemson.
