Ole Miss 69, Texas A&M 59: Stefan Moody had 19 points as the Rebels cooled off the visiting Aggies in a battle of SEC upper-division teams.

M.J. Rhett added 11 points for Ole Miss (15-7, 6-3 SEC), which won for the fifth time in its last six games. The Rebels, who also received five assists from Moody and nine points and a team-high nine rebounds from Sebastian Saiz, took the lead for good with a 13-1 run spanning the two halves and overcame a combined 10 points on 3-of-19 shooting from Jarvis Summers and LaDarius White, their second- and third-leading scorers.

Alex Caruso and reserve Tavario Miller scored 13 apiece to pace Texas A&M (15-6, 6-3), which saw its six-game win streak end. Kourtney Roberson added 12 points and Jalen Jones had eight points and 11 rebounds for the Aggies, who shot 4-of-19 from 3-point range, 11-of-20 from the free-throw line and had 16 turnovers.

Ole Miss, which led 33-32 at intermission, started the second half on a roll, scoring the first seven points and stretching its lead to 50-38 after Moody hit a short floater in the lane with 13:37 to play. The Rebels, though, went the next five minutes without a field goal as the Aggies cut the lead to 53-50, but White hit a 3-pointer and Rhett followed with a three-point play to put the hosts ahead 59-50 with 6:26 to play and Texas A&M never got closer than six points the rest of the way.

The game got off to a slow start, with the teams combining to miss their first 16 3-point attempts. Texas A&M did pull ahead 31-27 with 1:47 left in the half following back-to-back treys from Danuel House and Peyton Allen, but Ole Miss closed with a 6-1 run to take the one-point edge into the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: House, Texas A&M’s leading scorer and the reigning SEC Player of the Week, finished 2-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-8 from long range, and scored six points after hitting 12-of-18 from the field and 8-of-11 from the arc in scoring 35 combined points in two games last week. … Ole Miss, which entered the game having hit 212 of its previous 254 free-throw attempts, finished 15-of-20 at the line. … The Rebels had 11 steals, their second-highest total of the season.
