No. 3 Gonzaga 82, Memphis 64: Przemek Karnowski scored 17 points and Kyle Wiltjer added 15 as the Bulldogs cruised past the visiting Tigers in a key non-conference contest for both teams.

Domantas Sabonis collected 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds while Kevin Pangos chipped in 11 points for Gonzaga (22-1), which shot 55.3 percent and extended its winning streak to 15 games. Gary Bell Jr. contributed 10 points and three steals as the Bulldogs avenged a 60-54 loss to the Tigers last season in Memphis.

Nick King scored 13 points and Austin Nichols missed seven of his first nine shots and finished with 12 points for Memphis (13-8). Shaq Goodwin grabbed eight rebounds but was held scoreless on 0-of-6 shooting for the Tigers, who shot 35.1 percent and were 4-of-16 from 3-point range.

Gonzaga held the Tigers to 25.7 percent shooting in the opening period and took a 43-25 lead into the break after closing on a 15-3 run. The Bulldogs, who extended the nation’s longest active home winning streak to 38 games, made six of their first nine shots in the second half and moved ahead 59-37 on Wiltjer’s 3-pointer with just over 14 minutes left.

D'Marnier Cunningham's basket capped an 11-1 run for the Tigers and cut the deficit to 64-50 with just over seven minutes remaining, but Gonzaga quickly regained control on back-to-back 3-pointers by Eric McClellan and Bell. Memphis trailed from start to finish despite attempting a season-high-tying 74 field goals – 27 more than Gonzaga.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wiltjer and Karnowski combined to collect 13 rebounds for Gonzaga, which could take over the nation’s No. 2 ranking following Virginia’s loss to Duke earlier in the day. … Avery Woodson and Trahson Burrell scored nine points apiece for Memphis, which lost for the second time in its last seven games. … Pangos, who became the leading 3-point shooter in school history during Thursday’s win over Portland, missed all five of his attempts from beyond the arc.
