St. John's 75, Providence 66:
Sir'Dominic Pointer collected 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists as the Red Storm knocked off the visiting Friars in the Big East.

Phil Greene IV had 16 points and D'Angelo Harrison scored 15 for St. John's (14-7, 3-5 Big East), which completed the season sweep of the Friars. Rysheed Jordan recorded 14 points off the bench and Chris Obekpa grabbed 10 boards to go along with six blocks.

Kris Dunn had a game-high 23 points and LaDontae Henton tallied 13 despite going 0-of-5 from 3-point range. Carson Desrosiers chipped in 10 points for Providence (16-6, 6-3 Big East), which had its three-game win streak snapped.

Dunn scored 11 of the first 17 points for Providence in the second half, trimming a 44-32 halftime deficit to six points with just over 13 minutes to play, and the Friars came within 57-55 when Kyron Cartwright fed Tyler Harris for an easy dunk in transition. The Red Storm halted the comeback with a 10-0 run, and six more free throws sealed it.

St. John's trailed by as many as five points in the first half until Pointer put the hosts back in front with a basket with just under eight minutes, and the lead was stretched to 37-25 when he ran the baseline for an emphatic dunk. Greene notched 11 points in the first half and Pointer matched it just before the break with a difficult 3-point shot at the buzzer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jordan, the second-leading scorer for St. John's, did not start due to disciplinary reasons. He was questionable to play earlier this week with a knee injury. .. Henton tied Geoff McDermott for all-time starts at Providence with 122. ... The Friars shot 18.8 percent from long distance compared to 38.5 percent for the Red Storm.
