No. 11 Utah 86, Washington State 64: Brandon Taylor scored 18 points and Delon Wright added 17 as the Utes rolled past the visiting Cougars.

Jordan Loveridge had 14 points and six rebounds while Chris Reyes chipped in nine points for Utah (15-3, 5-1 Pac-12), which bounced back from Saturday’s 18-point loss at Arizona and moved into first in the Pac-12. Taylor and Wright combined for 15 assists as Utah won its 14th straight home game dating back to last season.

DaVonte Lacy led Washington State (9-9, 3-3) with 15 points and Josh Hawkinson had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Railey collected 12 points, eight rebounds and a career-high five blocks while Brett Boese contributed 11 points off the bench for the Cougars, who committed 17 turnovers compared to Utah's four and lost their second in a row.

Utah took a 46-27 lead into the break after shooting 53.1 percent and outscoring the Cougars 19-2 over the final 5:19. Washington State opened the second half by making six of its first seven 3-point attempts and pulled within 62-52 with just under 11 minutes left following back-to-back treys by Trevor Dunbar and Boese.

Taylor answered with a 3-pointer to help Utah regain control, and the Utes secured the victory as Dakarai Tucker’s 3-pointer extended the lead to 74-58 with just over six minutes remaining. Washington State shot 14-of-27 from the foul line and fell to 4-16 all-time against the Utes - including 1-13 in Salt Lake City.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Utah played without starting C Jakob Poeltl, who is listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury. … Washington State began the game with two free throws after Utes F Brekkott Chapman was assessed a technical foul for hanging on the rim too long during pregame warmups. … Boese drained three 3-pointers and is 15-of-31 from beyond the arc in Pac-12 play.
