Freshman Karl-Anthony Towns collected his first double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds as the Wildcats thrashed the visiting Mavericks.

Freshman Devin Booker added a season-high 19 points and Dakari Johnson scored 12 for Kentucky (6-0), which posted its second straight win by more than 47 points. Aaron and Andrew Harrison each added 11 points and the Wildcats dominated the glass 49-29.

Lonnie McClanahan was the only player to reach double figures with 10 points for UT-Arlington (3-2). Kevin Hervey grabbed nine rebounds but was 1-of-8 from the field as the starting five shot 6-of-31.

The Mavericks took a 3-2 lead on Hervey’s 3-pointer just under three minutes into the game before the Wildcats took over, pushing it out to 23-7 on Aaron Harrison’s jumper in front of the midway point. Kaelon Wilson responded with a 3-pointer for UT-Arlington but the Mavericks made only one field goal the rest of the half as Booker hit a trio of 3-pointers and Aaron Harrison buried two more en route to a 55-12 gap at the break.

UT-Arlington did not quit in the second half and McClanahan bookended a 6-0 burst with a pair of layups to cut it to 68-32 midway through the period. Booker’s fifth 3-pointer stretched it back to 78-36 and Kentucky coasted to the finish.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wildcats F Alex Poythress (illness) returned to the lineup after missing the last two games and contributed four points and nine rebounds. … Kentucky has held each of its six opponents under 40 percent from the field after limiting UT-Arlington to 27 percent. … The Mavericks had 16 turnovers and only three assists, giving them 80 turnovers against 59 assists on the season.
