Saint Joseph’s 72, Washington State 67: Ronald Roberts Jr. had 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Saints won the fifth-place game at the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, Fla.

DeAndre Bembry and Langston Galloway added 13 points apiece for Saint Joseph’s, which outrebounded the Cougars 37-27. Halil Kanacevic scored all seven of his points in the first half and grabbed eight rebounds for the Saints (4-2).

DaVonte Lacy scored 25 points to finish off a stellar tournament for Washington State (3-4). Que Johnson added 10 points off the bench, but no one else scored more than seven for the Cougars.

The Saints took the lead for good when Roberts scored seven points in a 10-0 run that gave them a 70-65 lead with 1:27 remaining. Lacy made his last basket 23 seconds later but missed on his last two tries as the Cougars went scoreless the rest of the way.

Saint Joseph’s led by as many as eight in the first half before taking a 34-28 advantage into the break. Lacy scored five straight points early in the second half to make it a one-point game and a 7-0 run minutes later put the Cougars ahead 42-38 with just over 16 minutes left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lacy has reached double figures in scoring in 10 straight games and averaged 22.3 points in the three-game tournament. … Saint Joseph’s shot 57.3 percent from the free-throw line for the tournament. … This was Washington State’s first game against a current member of the Atlantic-10 Conference since 1979.
