No. 3 Arizona 72, No. 5 Duke 66: Nick Johnson had 15 points as the Wildcats won their record-tying fourth NIT Season Tip-Off title at Madison Square Garden.

Brandon Ashley had 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting before fouling out with less than two minutes remaining and Arizona (7-0) had all five starters in double digits. Aaron Gordon, Kaleb Tarczewski and T.J. McConnell each chipped in 10 points.

Rodney Hood had 21 points for Duke (6-2) and Jabari Parker added 19 points, ending his streak of 20-point games at seven. Quinn Cook added 13 points for the Blue Devils.

Gordon and Johnson hit consecutive 3-pointers to tie the game at 45 with just over 11 minutes left and the pair finished a 12-3 run with Gordon's three-point play and Johnson's transition 3 for a 57-48 lead with about 6:30 left. Parker's three-point play with 1:46 left got Duke within five points but Arizona hit 9-of-10 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Duke and Arizona shot at least 50 percent from the floor during a first half that feature eight lead changes and 11 ties. Tyler Thornton had an assist to Parker and a layup in the final minute to help the Blue Devils to a 36-33 halftime lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats also won the tournament in 1990, 1995 and 1999, tying Duke's four titles (1985, 2000, 2005, 2009). ... Arizona started the second half 0-for-4 with six turnovers but Duke only extended its lead to six points. ... Arizona improved to 5-4 all-time against Duke.
