Alabama-Birmingham 87, Nebraska 74: Chad Frazier had his second consecutive big game, pouring in 32 points for the Blazers in their win over the Cornhuskers in the second round of the Charleston Classic.

Frazier, who scored 34 in a double-overtime loss to New Mexico in the first round, was 8-for-13 from the field and 4-for-6 from 3-point range for UAB (4-1), which will face Temple in Sunday's fifth-place game. Rod Rucker recorded his second double-double of the tournament, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Terran Petteway also had a second straight big game for Nebraska (3-2), leading the team with 21 points after dropping 28 on Massachusetts in the first round. Shavon Shields and Deverell Biggs chipped in with 11 each for the Cornhuskers, who will meet Georgia in the seventh-place game.

Nebraska got 27 of its 34 points from the bench in the first half and took three-point lead to halftime. UAB mounted a 9-5 run after the break and briefly took the lead a little more than two minutes into the half, but the Cornhuskers weathered the storm and restored their advantage.

The Blazers edged back ahead with 13:38 to go — this time for good when Frazier made a free throw, one of his 17 second-half points. Petteway racked up 16 second-half points of his own, but the Blazers’ 19-for-23 field-goal shooting after halftime was too much for Nebraska to overcome.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Blazers continued their excellent rebounding this season (plus-16.5 entering the game) by beating the Cornhuskers 41-28 on the glass. … Nebraska guard Ray Gallegos did not start because of a left knee sprain, but played 24 minutes off the bench and scored nine points. … UAB is 4-1 for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
