Cincinnati 79, Massachusetts Lowell 49: Sean Kilpatrick scored 18 points and the host Bearcats forced a season-high 28 turnovers as they pounded the winless River Hawks.

Justin Jackson tallied 13 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds en route to his second career double-double for Cincinnati (5-0), which improved to 44-4 over their last 48 non-conference home contests. The Bearcats have won every game by double figures.

Chad Holley led the way with 10 points for Massachusetts Lowell (0-6), which is in its first season as a Division I program. The River Hawks connected on their first two 3-pointers but missed their next 12 attempts until Tyler Livingston ended the skid in the closing minutes.

After Massachusetts Lowell briefly held an early lead and played even with Cincinnati over the first five minutes, Kilpatrick capped a 10-1 surge to give the Bearcats a 23-14 edge midway through the first half. The River Hawks cut the deficit to seven, but their 17 first-half turnovers began to catch up to them as Cincinnati took a 47-27 advantage into the break.

Cincinnati continued to pour it on in the second half, stretching the margin to as many as 33 late in the second half. Eleven of the 12 Bearcats who saw action scored.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cincinnati has amassed 27 steals and forced 51 turnovers over the last two contests. … The River Hawks, who are opening the season with eight of their first 10 games on the road, fell to 2-15 all-time against Division I opponents. … Jackson’s two double-doubles have come over the last four games.
