No.19 Connecticut 69, Rutgers 63: Shabazz Napier made a career-high seven 3-pointers and scored 26 points in his final home game as the Huskies held off the visiting Scarlet Knights in an American Athletic Conference game.

Napier was 7-of-11 from beyond the arc and also dished out four assists for the Huskies (24-6, 12-5). Niels Giffey drained 4-of-7 from 3-point range and scored 16 points, and DeAndre Daniels contributed seven points and six rebounds.

Myles Mack recorded 16 points, five rebounds and five assists and Wally Judge went for a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds for Rutgers (11-19, 5-12). J.J. Moore had 11 points and Kadeem Jack came up with nine for the Scarlet Knights, who shot 43.6 percent from the floor.

Despite Napier making three 3-pointers, Rutgers managed to hang around for most of the second half thanks to 10 early points from Judge and 3-pointers from Mack and Jerome Seagears, whose triple made it a 56-53 game inside the 12-minute mark. Napier hit a layup - his only field goal from inside the arc - to spark an 8-0 run that put the Huskies up 11 with six minutes remaining, but the Scarlet Knights would not go away.

A jumper by Ryan Boatright gave Connecticut an 11-point cushion with 4:16 left, but the Scarlet Knights scored eight of the next nine points to crawl to within four points before the Huskies made enough free throws to lock down the win. The Huskies led by seven points twice during the first half, including 27-20 with just over three minutes remaining, but the Scarlet Knights closed the half with three straight 3-pointers to cut the deficit to 32-31 at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The teams combined to go 14-of-25 on 3-point attempts in the first half and 20-of-43 for the game. .. The Scarlet Knights will close their first season under Eddie Jordan with a home game against No. 15 Cincinnati. ... Rutgers outrebounded the Huskies 37-28 but committed five more turnovers.
