When: 8:00 PM ET, Wednesday, February 26, 2014
Where: Pete Maravich Assembly Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Officials: # Kipp Kissinger, # Michael Stephens, # Kevin Fehr

LSU 68, Texas A&M 49: Freshman Jarell Martin hit a career-high four 3-pointers and scored 20 points for the second time in three games as the host Tigers used a huge second-half run to cruise past the Aggies.

Johnny O'Bryant III added 15 points and nine rebounds for LSU (17-10, 8-7 SEC), which avenged an 83-73 setback two weeks ago by holding Texas A&M to 30.8 percent from the field. Jordan Mickey tallied eight points, six boards and five blocks as the Tigers improved to 7-1 at home in conference action.

Jordan Green was the only player to finish in double figures with 12 points for the Aggies (16-12, 7-8). Alex Caruso chipped in five steals and five assists while Antwan Space, who hit the game-winning 3-pointer in Saturday’s overtime win against Tennessee, went 0-of-3 from beyond the arc and 2-of-13 overall while scoring seven points.

Texas A&M raced out to a 15-7 advantage less than seven minutes into the contest before missing its next nine shots and committing four turnovers during a 10-minute scoring drought while LSU scored the next 21 points to build a 13-point edge. The Aggies returned the favor by holding the Tigers without a field goal for nearly 6½ minutes spanning halftime to move within 30-27 with 17:38 to go.

Shavon Coleman and Mickey ended the drought with a pair of jumpers and Martin caught fire, scoring nine straight and 12 total points during a 30-12 surge that allowed LSU to take a commanding 60-39 lead with 4½ minutes left. The Aggies, who made six of their first 10 field-goal attempts to open the game, converted only 10 of their final 42 attempts.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas A&M fell to 1-10 away from home and has not won in Baton Rouge since 1941. … Mickey, who averages a SEC-best 3.4 blocks, posted his ninth game with at least five rejections. … The 48 points were the fewest points allowed by the Tigers this season and snapped a 10-game streak in which the conference’s worst scoring defense had yielded at least 71.
