Rodney Hood scored 21 points as the Blue Devils cruised past the Hokies to stretch the nation’s longest homecourt winning streak to 32 games.

Rasheed Sulaimon added 15 points and made four 3-pointers for Duke (23-6, 12-4 ACC). Jabari Parker contributed 11 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks as the Blue Devils won for the sixth time in the last seven games.

Trevor Thompson matched his season high with 15 points for Virginia Tech (9-18, 2-13), which has lost 13 of its last 14 outings. The Hokies dug themselves an early hole and committed 15 turnovers while losing their sixth consecutive road game.

Virginia Tech trailed by 20 midway through the first half but pulled within 34-27 early in the second half on a basket by Jarell Eddie. The Blue Devils answered with an 8-2 burst to get the lead back to 13 and later stretched it to 60-42 on Hood’s 3-pointer with just over 6 1/2 minutes remaining.

Duke dominated the first 10 minutes with Hood and Sulaimon each knocking two 3-pointers en route to a 24-4 lead. The Hokies scored the next eight points and trailed 32-20 at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The double-double was the 12th of the season for Parker. … Hokies G Ben Emelogu (ankle) sat out his second straight contest. … Hood has made at least one 3-pointer in 26 consecutive games and has scored 20 or more points nine times this season.
