Utah 79, USC 71: Delon Wright recorded 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists as Utah held off USC for its first victory on the road this season.

Jordan Loveridge registered 19 points and eight rebounds for the Utes (17-7, 6-6 Pac-12), who snapped an 11-game road losing streak that dated back to last season. Dallin Bachynski had 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench while Dakarai Tucker scored all 13 of his points in the second half for Utah.

Byron Wesley led the way with 20 points and seven boards for USC (10-14, 1-10), which lost its fifth consecutive contest. Freshman Kahlil Dukes contributed a season-best 10 points while Nikola Jovanovic had nine points and seven rebounds for the Trojans.

USC led by eight through the first eight minutes before back-to-back 3-pointers by Taylor and Loveridge highlighted a 15-3 run that gave Utah the lead. Wright scored 12 points in the opening 20 minutes, making all four shots, as the Utes settled for a 36-31 edge at intermission.

Utah broke the game open by scoring 15 straight points, capped by Tucker’s third 3-pointer of the second half, to take a 56-39 lead with just under 13 minutes left. The Trojans fought back to within four, but Loveridge’s 3-pointer with 1:30 left gave the Utes a 76-68 lead and they sealed their third straight win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Utah G Brandon Taylor, one of three Utes from the Los Angeles area along with Tucker and Wright, added nine points, six assists and three steals. … Trojans G J.T. Terrell, second on the team in scoring at 10.5 per game, played briefly in the second half due to the flu and did not score. … Utah has won the last three meetings with USC and evened the all-time series at 17-17.
