No. 18 Michigan 70, No. 20 Ohio State 60: Nik Stauskas scored 15 points to help the visiting Wolverines knock off the Buckeyes in Big Ten play.

Derrick Walton Jr. contributed 13 points, a career-best 10 rebounds and six assists as Michigan (18-6, 10-2) moved into first place by a half-game over idle Michigan State. Zak Irvin tallied 10 points and Jordan Morgan grabbed eight rebounds as the Wolverines bounced back from an 18-point loss to Iowa.

LaQuinton Ross had 24 points and seven rebounds to pace Ohio State (19-6, 6-6). Lenzelle Smith Jr. added 13 points for the Buckeyes, who had a three-game winning streak halted.

Michigan used a 12-0 burst to take a 49-43 lead on Walton’s three-point play with 9:19 left before the Buckeyes pulled within 51-50 on a three-point play by Ross with 6:24 left. The Wolverines then seized control with a 13-2 run, capped by two free throws from Glenn Robinson III to make it 64-52 with 1:32 to play.

Ohio State had a 10-point lead late in the first half before settling for a 30-26 lead at the break. A basket by Ross gave the Buckeyes an eight-point lead less than three minutes into the second half and Ohio State led 43-37 with 12-plus minutes left before the Wolverines began their domination and outscored the Buckeyes 33-17 the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Robinson had nine points on 3-of-10 shooting and has made only 4-of-17 shots over the past two games. … The Buckeyes were 3-of-20 from 3-point range with Smith having all the makes. … Michigan collected 14 offensive rebounds and had a 39-27 edge on the boards.
