Kansas State 85, No. 7 Kansas 82 (OT): Marcus Foster scored five of his 20 points in the extra session as the host Wildcats knocked off the Jayhawks in Big 12 play.

Will Spradling contributed 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals for Kansas State (17-7, 7-4), which avenged an 86-60 loss to Kansas earlier this season. The Wildcats took the lead on Foster’s three-point play with 3:20 left in overtime and Foster and Spradling each hit two free throws in the final 22 seconds to seal it.

Perry Ellis had 19 points and 11 assists and Andrew Wiggins scored 16 points for the Jayhawks (18-6, 9-2). Naadir Tharpe added 13 points and 10 assists for Kansas, which rallied to force the overtime before falling for just the second time in its last 11 games.

The Jayhawks trailed 68-59 with 1:53 to play in regulation before Wiggins drove for a layup and Brannen Greene scored two baskets in seven seconds to pull Kansas within three with 1:26 remaining. The Jayhawks finished off the 10-1 run to force overtime on Wiggins’ putback with 6.9 seconds left before Kansas State carried the play in the extra session, including a jumper by Wesley Iwundu to make it 80-75 with 1:15 remaining.

The Wildcats used a 12-2 run to take a 46-37 lead with 13:27 remaining in regulation. Kansas cut the deficit to 52-50 on two free throws by Joel Embiid with 8:07 to go but never inched ahead until a basket by Tarik Black early in the overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The victory marked only the fourth time Kansas State has beaten the Jayhawks in 26 meetings since Bill Self became Kansas coach. … Wiggins was just 4-of-12 from the field and 8-of-15 from the free-throw line. … Kansas State G Shane Southwell had just five points and missed the overtime due to a foot injury, while Foster missed some time in the second half after tweaking an ankle.
