LSU 88, Arkansas 74: Johnny O’Bryant III had 23 points and nine rebounds as the host Tigers cruised past the shorthanded Razorbacks in SEC play.

Jordan Mickey added 22 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots for LSU (14-6, 5-3), which has won four of its last five games. Jarell Martin added 15 points and Andre Stringer tallied 10 for the Tigers.

Rashad Madden scored 17 points and Bobby Portis had 15 points and five steals for Arkansas (13-8, 2-6), which indefinitely suspended guard Michael Qualls and forward Alandise Harris earlier in the day. Kikko Haydar scored a career-high 15 off the bench and Coty Clarke added 10 points.

The Razorbacks trailed 70-50 before making a charge with an 18-4 burst to pull within 74-68 on a 3-pointer by Mardracus Wade with just under five minutes to go. LSU rattled off the next nine points, the last five by Mickey, to stretch it back out to 15 as the Tigers beat Arkansas for the eighth time in the last 11 meetings.

O’Bryant had 12 first-half points and one of his baskets gave LSU a 31-11 lead with just under 6 1/2 minutes left in the half. The Tigers led 40-25 at the break and pushed the lead back up to 20 on Malik Morgan’s basket with just over nine minutes to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The suspensions of Qualls (11.7 average) and Harris (9.1) are for “conduct detrimental to the team,” according to Razorbacks coach Mike Anderson. … Mickey has five or more blocks nine times this season. … Arkansas drops to 0-4 on the road.
