No. 16 Duke 80, No. 17 Pittsburgh 65: Andre Dawkins matched season highs with 20 points and six 3-pointers as the visiting Blue Devils recorded the ACC victory over the Panthers.

Jabari Parker added 21 points and 11 rebounds as Duke (17-4, 6-2) went 13-of-25 from 3-point range while winning its fifth straight game. Amile Jefferson contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds and Rodney Hood added 13 points.

Lamar Patterson scored 14 points but was just 4-of-14 shooting for Pittsburgh (18-3, 6-2). Talib Zanna added 11 points and 11 rebounds and James Robinson scored 10 points.

It was a one-point game just past the midway mark of the second half before Pittsburgh missed six consecutive shots and Duke ripped off 12 straight points – including two 3-pointers by Dawkins and one by Quinn Cook – to expand its lead to 64-51 with just over six minutes left. The lead reached 15 on Cook’s basket with 3:16 remaining and the Panthers were never again within single digits.

Parker had 16 first-half points to help Duke to a 34-32 lead at the break. Pittsburgh knotted the score on three occasions over the first four minutes of the second half, but was unable to inch ahead and trailed 52-51 after two free throws by Patterson with 9:41 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The double-double is Jefferson’s second of the season and marks his fifth double-digit outing on the boards. … Pittsburgh allowed a season-high in points for the second straight game – Maryland scored 79 on Saturday. … Dawkins has made five or more 3-pointers four times this season and raised his career total to 214, 11th-most in school history.
