Texas 74, No. 23 Baylor 60: Freshman Isaiah Taylor had a career-high 27 points to lead the visiting Longhorns to their fifth straight win.

Taylor went 10-of-18 from the floor and had three assists and three steals. Jonathan Holmes added 14 points and eight rebounds and Cameron Ridley had eight points and a career-high 14 rebounds for Texas (16-4, 5-2 Big 12).

Gary Franklin had 14 points off the bench and Taurean Prince had 12 points and six rebounds to lead Baylor (13-6, 1-5), which lost its fourth straight. Franklin had two 3-pointers for the Bears, who entered game leading Big 12 in 3-point shooting at 40.1 percent but hit just 3-of-17 against Texas.

Baylor's Isaiah Austin had blocks on consecutive Texas possessions and Prince's jumper gave Baylor its only lead a 22-21 with 4 1/2 minutes left in the first half. The Longhorns quickly regained the lead on Prince Ibeh's dunk and finished the half with a four-point lead.

Texas got consecutive inside shots from Holmes, Ridley and Taylor during a 9-1 run for a 46-34 lead early in the second half. Baylor got within seven points midway through the period, but Texas made seven consecutive baskets - including four from Taylor - to push the lead to 62-47 with about six minutes left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Baylor just 25 percent in the first half and missed all nine 3-point attempts while Martez Walker's 3-pointer in the final 20 seconds was the only first-half 3-pointer for Texas. ... Baylor's Cory Jefferson had three consecutive blocks in the second half and moved into third place on the school's career list with 146, passing Mamadou Diene (2005-09, 145). ... Baylor was outrebounded (43-40) for just the third time this season.
