Richmond 58, No.12 Massachusetts 55: Kendall Anthony scored 21 points and Cedrick Lindsay hit two free throws with 10 seconds remaining as the Spiders upset the visiting Minutemen in Atlantic 10 play.

Anthony was 8-of-14 from the floor and made 4-of-6 3-pointers and Lindsay finished with 11 points and four assists for the Spiders (13-6, 3-1). Trey Davis grabbed nine rebounds to go with four points and Alonzo Nelson-Ododa had three blocks.

Sampson Carter scored 15 points to lead the Minutemen (16-2, 3-1). Cady Lalanne recorded 10 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks and Chaz Williams added eight points and seven assists, but missed a 3-point attempt that would have tied the game with six seconds remaining.

Anthony was the difference-maker in the first half as the Spiders never trailed while holding the Minutemen to a season-low 22 points for a half. Anthony's 3-pointer with four minutes remaining staked Richmond to its largest lead at 26-17 before the Minutemen scored the final three points to close the half down 27-22.

The Minutemen took their only lead of the game less than three minutes into the second half and managed to tie the Spiders at 40 with less than 10 minutes left. Anthony's 3-pointer with under four minutes left made it 55-48, which was just enough to hold off the Minutemen, who received nine points from their own Trey Davis.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Minutemen's previous first-half low was 25 against St. Bonaventure. ... Massachusetts shot a paltry 27.6 percent, including 1-of-6 from beyond the arc, in the first half. ... The last Richmond win at home over a team ranked higher than the Minutemen came against Georgia Tech in November 1986.
