LSU 81, Vanderbilt 58: Johnny O'Bryant III collected 22 points and 12 rebounds and the Tigers routed the visiting Commodores.

Jordan Mickey added 13 points and five rebounds and Jarell Martin had 11 points for LSU (11-5, 2-2 SEC), which outrebounded the Commodores 30-10 in the first half and led 35-25 at the break. Andre Stringer added 10 points to help the Tigers bounce back from Wednesday’s overtime loss at Mississippi.

Rod Odom led Vanderbilt (9-7, 1-3) with 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Damian Jones had 16 points and six rebounds while Dai-Jon Parker added 10 points for the Commodores, who shot 35.2 percent and were outrebounded 48-25.

Odom cut the lead to 52-42 after draining three 3-pointers in the first nine minutes of the second half, but LSU answered with six straight points. O’Bryant, who had 13 points and 10 rebounds in the first half, made two free throws with just under nine minutes remaining to put the Tigers ahead 59-44.

O’Bryant was held to six points and five boards in Wednesday’s loss, but the All-SEC preseason first-team selection dominated against the Commodores while converting 11 of his 14 foul shots. Stringer's three-point play put the Tigers ahead by 19 with under eight minutes left and the Tigers cruised to their second straight win over Vanderbilt.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Vanderbilt, playing with seven scholarship players, shot 8-for-23 in the first half. … LSU’s bench outscored Vanderbilt’s reserves 16-2 in the first half and 32-2 overall. … LSU improved to 50-6 since the beginning of the 2005-06 season when scoring at least 80 points.
