No. 1 Arizona 91, Arizona State 68: Nick Johnson scored 17 points to lead seven players in double figures as the Wildcats routed the visiting Sun Devils to remain unbeaten.

Aaron Gordon added 16 points and Kaleb Tarczewski collected 12 points and eight rebounds for Arizona (18-0, 5-0 Pac-12), which shot 55.7 percent and extended its home winning streak to 15 games. Johnson was 6-of-9 shooting and became the 48th player in school history to reach 1,000 points.

Jahii Carson led Arizona State (13-5, 2-3) with 20 points, Bo Barnes added 13 and Shaquielle McKissic chipped in 10. The Sun Devils were held to 34 percent shooting after entering the game averaging 77.2 points.

Arizona led by as many as 21 in the first half before the Sun Devils cut the deficit to 42-28 at the break, but the Wildcats opened the second half on a 10-2 run and cruised to their third straight victory in the series. Arizona State shot 23.1 percent in the opening stanza and committed a total of 18 turnovers.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson contributed 11 points and T.J. McConnell and Brandon Ashley had 10 points apiece for Arizona, which has won 31 of the past 39 meetings against its in-state rival. Gabe York (10 points) hit a 3-pointer with two minutes left to give the Wildcats seven players in double figures for the first time this season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Arizona State G Jermaine Marshall, the team’s second-leading scorer at 15.6 points per game, missed the contest due to a groin injury. … Carson, who missed his first six shots and shot 7-for-19 overall, entered the game shooting 34.5 percent in league play. ... The Wildcats improved to 32-7 in Pac-12 home games under coach Sean Miller and led by double digits at halftime for the ninth time in their first 18 games.
