Hilliard was 4-of-5 from 3-point range for 19 points while Arcidacono was 3-of-8 en route to 14 points. Dylan Ennis and James Bell also made a pair of 3s and JayVaughn Pinkston added 17 points to go over 1,000 for his career for Villanova (14-1, 3-0), which notched its third straight win to start Big East play after losing to former conference rival Syracuse late last month.

Meanwhile, Seton Hall (10-6, 1-2) has lost two straight by double digits after its first four losses came by a total of 11 points, including defeats in overtime and double-overtime. Brian Oliver led the Pirates with 20 points, fueled by his 6-of-11 shooting from behind the arc.

Villanova led 38-32 at halftime as the team hit seven of its 13 3-point attempts, including three 3s by Arcidiacono and a pair by Hilliard. Seton Hall also shot well from long range in the first half, with Oliver's 2-of-3 effort fueling a 4-of-9 performance by the team in the opening 20 minutes.

After the Wildcats controlled the early portion of the second half, Oliver's 3-pointer with about 11 minutes left brought the Pirates within 55-47. But freshman Josh Hart (11 points) scored the Wildcats' next seven points - including a 3-pointer and a dunk - and Villanova led by double digits the rest of the way.
