UCLA 107, USC 73: Kyle Anderson matched his career high with 23 points and added a season-high 12 rebounds as the host Bruins scored a decisive victory in the Pac-12 Conference opener for both teams.

Jordan Adams finished with 21 points and six steals for UCLA (12-2, 1-0), which matched the most points ever scored against the Trojans in the series. Bryce Alford added a season-high 20 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range and fellow freshman reserve guard Zach LaVine contributed 16 points for the Bruins.

Byron Wesley had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead USC (9-5, 0-1). J.T. Terrell added 14 points off the bench while shooting 5-for-16 and freshman guard Julian Jacobs scored 10 points but committed five turnovers.

The Bruins shot 61.1 percent from the floor while building a 56-34 halftime lead. The Trojans, by contrast, missed six free throws and committed 13 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes before finishing with 17 turnovers.

The Trojans had six giveaways in the first 4:17 of the game to fall behind 11-2. The closest the Trojans would get in the first half was three before UCLA followed with an 8-0 run and the lead continued to expand.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Bruins and Trojans were meeting in a conference opener for the first time since 1991. … The 100-point game was the first against the Trojans by UCLA since 1998. … USC PG Pe’Shon Howard went scoreless for the second straight game after averaging 11.9 points in the first 12.
