West Virginia 82, William & Mary 45: Juwan Staten notched 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to propel the Mountaineers to a victory over the visiting Tribe in a non-conference game at Charleston.

Terry Henderson poured in 19 points and had three steals and Nathan Adrian added 16 points and went 4-of-5 from 3-point range for the Mountaineers (8-5), who start Big 12 play next week. Remi Dibo recorded nine points and six boards and the team's leading scorer, Eron Harris, managed 10 points.

Tim Rusthoven had 13 points and five rebounds and Marcus Thornton had nine points but was 1-of-8 on 3-pointers for the Tribe (6-5), who shot 25.5 percent, including 6-of-25 from 3-point territory. Brandon Britt chipped in with seven points.

The Tribe managed to lead early on behind six points from Rusthoven, but then they missed their next six field goals as the Mountaineers used a 14-2 run to grab a 16-8 lead with 12:10 remaining. The run grew to 21-2 and the lead 23-8 before Thornton nailed a 3-pointer, but it was all West Virginia the rest of the way in taking at 41-24 halftime advantage.

The second half didn't go much better than the first for the Tribe, who went the first 4:28 without scoring as the Mountaineers extended the lead to 47-24. Omar Prewitt ended the drought with a 3-pointer but West Virginia scored 11 of the next 14 points to push the lead to 28 points and never looked back.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Tribe was 6-of-27 from the field, including 2-of-11 from 3-point range, in the first half. ... Staten had nine points, five rebounds and four assists in the first half. ... William & Mary made just four field goals in the final 17:21 of the first half.
