No. 23 UCLA 95, Prairie View A&M 71: Jordan Adams had 18 points and five steals as the host Bruins pulled away early.

Norman Powell added 13 points and four assists and Kyle Anderson finished with 13 points and seven rebounds for UCLA (9-1). Travis Wear contributed 10 points and two blocks and Zach LaVine scored 10 points off the bench for the Bruins.

Montrael Scott scored 25 of his career-high 27 points in the second half for Prairie View A&M (2-8). Louis Munks added 13 points off the bench for the Panthers.

The Bruins surged to an 11-2 lead and never looked back. Prairie View A&M was able to get back to single digits and remained there until UCLA scored seven straight points to move ahead 26-13 with eight minutes left in the first half.

The Bruins continue to pound away, scoring 24 points in the final seven minutes of the opening half to take a 50-24 lead into the break. The Bruins shot 64.2 percent from the field, including 71.9 from the starting five.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Anderson, who came in sixth in the nation at 7.1 assists, has combined for five in the last two games. … Anderson shot 21.1 percent from 3-point range last season and missed his first four tries from beyond the arc this fall but is 9-for-15 after making both attempts against the Panthers. … The Bruins will face No. 7 Duke on Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York.
