North Carolina State 82, Detroit 79: T.J. Warren scored 29 points as the Wolfpack hung on for a home victory over the Titans.

The leading scorer in the ACC, Warren made 9-of-14 shots from the field and 10-of-14 attempts from the free-throw line for North Carolina State (7-2), which never trailed en route to winning its fifth straight game. Ralston Turner was 7-of-9 from the floor, including 6-of-8 from behind the arc, and finished with a season-high 21 points off the bench for the Wolfpack.

Juwan Howard Jr. paced Detroit (5-6) with 24 points, including four 3-pointers. Evan Bruinsma had 16 points and Ugochukwu Njoku added 11 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort.

Warren scored 13 points in the first half as the Wolfpack led 37-28 at intermission. The sophomore forward scored 10 of North Carolina State's first 15 points in the second half to help his team take a 52-41 lead midway through the stanza and Warren's tip-in gave the Wolfpack a 70-56 advantage with 5:02 remaining.

However, the Titans responded with a 10-2 run over the next 2 1/2 minutes to slice their deficit to 72-66. Kyle Washington made two free throws to give the Wolfpack another six-point lead with 38 seconds left, but Detroit hit a pair of late 3-pointers - and North Carolina State missed three foul shots down the stretch - before Jarod Williams misfired on a 3-pointer in the final seconds.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lennard Freeman did not score for North Carolina State but led the team with nine rebounds. ... Tyler Lewis had seven assists off the bench for the Wolfpack. ... The difference in the game was the 3-point shooting, as North Carolina State was 10-of-21, while Detroit made just six of its 20 attempts.
