Stringer hit two early 3-pointers to key a 12-2 run that put LSU up by eight before Louisiana-Monroe pulled to within 19-17 after Daniel Grieves' triple midway through the first half. The Tigers used a 10-2 spurt to go ahead by six as Mickey scored 13 points in the opening 20 minutes to give LSU a 31-26 edge at the break.

Mickey was the catalyst for a 15-4 burst to begin the second half that extended LSU's advantage to 16. Shavon Coleman hit from beyond the arc to make it 55-37 with less than nine minutes remaining and the Tigers held off a late Warhawks' rally to pick up their sixth win in their last seven outings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Mickey has scored in double figures in the first eight games of his collegiate career … LSU has outrebounded the opposition in seven of its eight games and won the battle of the boards 36-34. … Louisiana-Monroe was held to less than 80 points for the first time since an 80-63 season-opening loss to Kansas.
