Texas Christian 71, Mississippi State 61: Charles Hill Jr. came off the bench to score a season-high 20 points as the Horned Frogs downed the host Bulldogs in the Big 12-SEC Challenge.

Kyan Anderson added 16 points for Texas Christian (5-3), which went 25-for-31 from the free throw line. Michael Williams chipped in with 11 points in a reserve role, while Karviar Shepherd recorded a career-high 16 rebounds to go with nine points for the Horned Frogs.

Craig Sword, who was the SEC's Player of the Week, recorded a game-high 24 points and five steals for Mississippi State (5-2). Gavin Ware registered nine points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs, who were just 10-of-20 from the charity stripe.

Hill scored 10 straight TCU points to give the Horned Frogs a 19-8 lead midway through the first half as Mississippi State missed nine of its first 12 shots. The Bulldogs trimmed the deficit to six before the Horned Frogs closed out the opening period on an 8-2 run to take a 34-22 edge into the break.

TCU grabbed its biggest lead of the game at 52-34 when Hill hit a layup midway through the second half. Mississippi State used a 16-4 spurt to close the gap to three with 2:28 remaining before the Horned Frogs sank 10-of-11 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
