No. 6 Louisville 90, Kansas City 62: Chane Behanan recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds while Russ Smith had 10 points and 11 assists as the host Cardinals routed the Kangaroos with another strong defensive performance.

Montrezl Harrell added 14 points and seven rebounds for Louisville (7-1), which entered the week leading the nation with a plus-11 turnover ratio and committed nine to Kansas City's 20. Smith added six rebounds and three steals as the Cardinals exceeded their average of 10.7 steals with 14.

Freshman Martez Harrison and Nelson Kirksey registered 14 points apiece while Kirksey had seven rebounds for the Kangaroos (1-6), who were outrebounded 49-29, including 22-4 on the offensive glass. The teams combined to shoot 15-for-48 from 3-point range.

Louisville never trailed with Luke Hancock scoring all 10 of his points among the Cardinals' first 26. Louisville took a 36-15 lead on Harrell's dunk with just under seven minutes left in the first half and settled for a 43-27 lead at intermission while struggling from the field at 38.5 percent in the opening 20 minutes.

Louisville extended the margin to 68-43 on Smith's basket with just over 11 minutes remaining and led by as many as 31. Chris Jones added 10 points for the Cardinals, who won the only previous meeting 99-47 in 2012.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cardinals entered the week fifth in the country in steals per game and eighth in fewest turnovers at 9.3. ... Louisville won its 19th straight game against an unranked opponent at home, while Kansas City fell to 0-19 versus ranked teams. ... The Kangaroos lost to No. 18 Iowa State 110-51 on Nov. 25 in their only other game against a ranked opponent this season.
