Xavier 77, Miami (Ohio) 51: Guard Dee Davis scored a game-high 15 points and dished off five assists as the host Musketeers overcame a sluggish start to breeze past the RedHawks.

Semaj Christon finished with 13 points and eight assists, James Farr had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Matt Stainbrook added 10 points for Xavier (4-0). The Musketeers finished with a 42-25 rebounding edge and connected on 9-of-21 3-pointers.

Guard Geovonie McKnight scored 10 points to lead Miami (0-3). Sophomore guard Reggie Johnson, who came into the game averaging a team-best 23 points, finished with five points on 2-of-9 shooting and didn't score a field goal until the 12:27 mark of the second half.

The RedHawks were competitive early and took a 18-17 lead on a 3-pointer by Will Sullivan. Davis then answered with a 3-pointer to spark a 7-0 run by the Musketeers who then gradually pulled away to a 36-24 halftime lead.

Xavier opened the second half with a 14-2 run to blow the game open at 50-26. The Musketeers, who led by as many as 31 points, finished with their largest margin of victory over Miami in the 100-game series, which they now lead 53-47.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Xavier improved to 11-1 in its last 12 games against MAC schools. ... Christon has scored in double figures in 23 straight games. ... A moment of silence was held before the game to honor former RedHawks' coach Charlie Coles, the all-time leader in wins at Miami, who passed away in June at the age of 71.
