Butler 70, Princeton 67:
Kellen Dunham scored a career-high 26 points as the host Bulldogs held on for the victory.

Elijah Brown came off the bench to score 10 of his 13 points in the first half for Butler (2-0). Kameron Woods bounced back from early foul trouble that kept him scoreless in the first half and finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Denton Koon scored 21 points in a reserve role for Princeton (1-1). Hans Brase finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds for his second career double-double for the Tigers.

Butler used runs of 9-0 and 8-1 to take double-digit leads in the second half, but the Tigers didn’t go away, trimming the deficit to two with 47 seconds left on four straight points by Koon. After a turnover by Brown, Koon had a chance to tie the score but missed a short jumper with five seconds left and Dunham secured the rebound.

Princeton built a couple four-point leads early on but then went without a field goal for more than six minutes of the first half as Butler went on a 10-1 surge to take a 27-21 lead. Princeton crawled back to tie the score twice more in the first half before Butler took a 33-31 lead into intermission.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Koon, the top returning scorer for the Tigers this season (10.5), came off the bench for the second straight game in hopes of giving him a spark. He had 17 points and 11 rebounds in the season opener against Florida A&M. …. Brown is the son of Cleveland Cavaliers coach Mike Brown. … Butler is 11-1 all time against the Ivy League, with its lone loss coming to Cornell in the 1966-67 season.
