Cincinnati 68, North Carolina State 57: Sean Kilpatrick scored a game-high 21 points and Justin Jackson recorded a double-double as the Bearcats pulled away late to defeat the visiting Wolfpack in the Global Sports Shootout.

A preseason selection to the All-American Athletic Conference first team, Kilpatrick accounted for all three of the Bearcats' 3-pointers and went 8-of-8 from the foul line. Jackson finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, while Titus Rubles chipped in with 14 points and seven boards for Cincinnati (2-0).

North Carolina State (1-1), which shot nearly 62 percent in its season-opening win over Appalachian State, converted just 32.8 percent of its shots in this one. T.J. Warren and Ralston Turner paced the Wolfpack with 13 points apiece, and Desmond Lee contributed 10 points.

Kilpatrick scored 10 points in the first half, which ended with the teams deadlocked in a 35-35 tie. Neither squad led by more than five points during the opening 20 minutes, while the second half also featured back-and-forth action until Cincinnati took the game's first six-point lead, 57-51, on a pair of free throws by Kilpatrick with 5:24 remaining.

Lee responded with a jumper, but the Bearcats reeled off the next five points, capped by Kilpatrick's layup with 2:17 to play that made it 62-53. Troy Caupain, Kilpatrick and Jermaine Sanders each knocked down a pair of free throws in the final 74 seconds to seal the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Bearcats are 41-4 in their last 45 non-conference home games. ... The teams combined for only 14 assists on 40 made baskets. ... In addition to his 13 points, Warren also contributed 10 rebounds, two steals and a block, though he shot just 5-of-15 from the field.
