No. 10 Ohio State 89, Morgan State 50: LaQuinton Ross logged his first career double-double with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds as the host Buckeyes cruised to victory.

Lenzelle Smith Jr. added a game-high 18 points and nine rebounds for Ohio State (1-0), which outrebounded Morgan State 55-34. Shannon Scott chipped in a career-high 16 points and seven assists.

Returning leading scorer Justin Black paced the Bears (0-1) with 13 points on just 6-of-19 shooting. Ian Chiles scored 12 on 5-of-6 shooting while Anthony Hubbard had 11.

Scott made three 3-pointers in the first 2:03 as Ohio State ran out to an 11-2 lead. Morgan State held close for a while, as a Blake Bozeman's 3-pointer kept the Bears within 29-19 with 6:40 left in the first half.

But two Ross free throws and a Smith 3-pointer sparked a 20-4 half-closing run. Sam Thompson added 14 points for the Buckeyes off the bench.
