Oregon 74, Saint Louis 57: Freshman guard Damyean Dotson scored a season-high 23 points and the 12th-seeded Ducks posted their second straight upset in the third round of the NCAA Tournament in San Jose, Calif.

Carlos Emory contributed 14 points off the bench, E.J. Singler also scored 14 but committed a career-high eight turnovers and Arsalan Kazemi grabbed 16 rebounds for Oregon (28-8), which will play top-seeded Louisville in the Midwest Regional semifinal next week in Indianapolis.

Kwamain Mitchell scored 18 points, Dwayne Evans had 16 points and nine rebounds and Jordair Jett finished with 11 points for fourth-seeded Saint Louis (28-7), which is still seeking its first Sweet 16 berth in program history.

The Ducks used eight unanswered points to erase an early five-point hole and another 8-0 surge to move ahead 22-15 with 7:39 left in the first half. The advantage continued to swell and Johnathan Loyd’s 3-pointer with 10 seconds left gave Oregon a 35-19 halftime lead.

Evans, who scored 24 points in the second-round win Thursday against New Mexico State, made two straight baskets to start the second half but the Billikens weren’t able to trim the deficit back to single digits.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oregon is in the Sweet 16 for first time since advancing to the Elite Eight in 2007. … Dotson has reached double figures in all five postseason games, his longest double-digit streak of the season. He’s averaging 16.8 points in those games, compared to 4.8 over the previous five. … Oregon G Dominic Artis was 0-for-7 and went scoreless while Loyd - his backup - had nine points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals.
