Iowa 75, Stony Brook 63: Roy Devyn Marble scored a game-high 28 points as the Hawkeyes pulled away in the second half to beat the visiting Seawolves in the second round of the NIT.

Aaron White added 13 points and seven rebounds for Iowa (23-12), which won their team-record 18th home game. Marble was 9-of-18 shooting and dished out five assists for the Hawkeyes, who will play St. John’s or Virginia in the quarterfinals.

Jameel Warney scored 17 points and Anthony Jackson chipped in with 15 for America East champion Stony Brook (25-8). Dave Coley also had 12 points for the Seawolves, who came into the game with the most true road wins (13) in Division I.

Marble scored 16 in the first half and Josh Oglesby’s 3-pointer with three seconds left gave Iowa a 37-34 lead at intermission. Coley made all three of his 3-pointers to score 11 in the opening 20 minutes for the Seawolves.

Stony Brook tied the game at 41 before Iowa scored 13 of the next 16, capped by a Zach McCabe 3-pointer for a 54-44 lead with 11:49 to go. Jackson’s four-point play brought the Seawolves back within four with 9:36 left, but White made a jumper and Marble drained a 3-pointer to push the lead to 61-52 and Iowa finished off its fifth win in six games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Iowa blocked five shots, breaking the single-season team record with 175. The previous mark was 174 in 2004-05. … Stony Brook was 9-of-17 from the free-throw line. … Iowa, which came in shooting 30 percent from 3-point range, made 8-of-19 (42.1 percent).
